Twitter releases new Catalyst app for macOS Catalina

The Twitter app has been made available in the Mac Application Store for clients who are using the new version of macOS – Catalina.

The application has been developed with a Catalina framework known as Catalyst through which developers port their iPad applications to their Mac easily. Twitter has announced that it will be supporting Catalyst at this year’s WWDC.

As of now, the new Mac app is not a port to the iPad app, and the Mac-style toolbar clashes with the Twitter interface. However, it is the most noteworthy application to be developed on Catalyst so far.

The new Twitter application for Mac OS is a significant development, with some calling it a bigger release than the recent macOS releases. You may want to hold off on updating to Catalina as of now, though, and make sure it will work on all your applications.
